Commodities 24th Annual Futures & Options Expo 08 10-12 November, 2008 - Chicago, USA
Expo showcases products, services and information for market professionals and participants. Hundreds of risk management products, trading tools, books and exchange and technology products are presented by more than 100 companies from around the world.

More than 4,500 people from more than 30 countries will attend Expo, ranging from senior staff at brokerage firms and exchanges to floor traders, pension fund managers, corporate treasurers, CTAs and CPOs, and individual investors.

Expo also offers a variety of sessions that allow participants to discuss industry trends, hear expert views on key issues, improve trading skills and learn about new products, systems and practices. Our program includes sessions for business, operations and technology professionals and traders.

Hilary Till, Principal and co-founder Premia Capital Management LLC, and Research Associate, EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre will be speaking at the session entitled, "The International Commodity Boom: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" on Tuesday, 11 November at 3.45 pm:

"Commodities have been hot. Food and energy prices have soared, along with trading volumes. Because of their low correlation with stocks and bonds, commodities have been increasingly included in investor portfolios. But consumers are irate and governments have begun to question the role of futures trading in the painful price run up. (Futures trading has been banned on eight commodities in India.) What does the future hold for a continuation of the boom, for even wider participation in these markets, for further government actions to curtail trading, and for commodity product innovation? A panel of thoughtful, knowledgeable and entertaining panelists will address these questions and more.

Chair:
  • Michael Gorham, Director, Center for Financial Markets At Stuart Graduate School of Business, Illinois Institute of Technology Center for Financial Markets
Speakers:
  • Emma Davey, Membership and Business Development Manager, London Metal Exchange
  • Hillary Till, Principal, Premia Capital Management and Research Associate, EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre"
