Commodities Commodities Week Europe 2007 1st-4th October, 2007 - London, UK Exploring the future commodities markets

With record prices in recent years, commodities have delivered record returns to investors who invested wisely in the asset class during its recent bull run. The markets have been very buoyant but the dynamics are now changing.

Opinions are split on the future of the commodity markets and on the returns that they can now deliver to investors. As an increasing number of investors look toward the asset class, more and more questions are being asked about how to successfully play the markets.

  • Direct or indirect?
  • Alpha or beta?
  • Short or long?
Some questions lie answered, some are the focus of continuing debate. Commodities Week Europe will further this debate and answer the questions that are influencing investment decisions globally.

Commodities Week Europe will examine and discuss the current investments trends and strategies being seen in the commodity markets today. It will analyse the risks and opportunities associated with different commodities, the various asset allocation strategies being adopted by fund managers and the benefits of the investment vehicles now available in the marketplace.

Hilary Till, Research Associate with the EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre and Principal, Premia Capital Management, LLC, will be participating in a "News" panel entitled, "Commentary on breaking news stories and their impact on commodity performance", alongside Guy Isherwood, Editor of Commodities Now and Kevin Morrison, Senior Commodities Correspondent of the FT, on 2nd October 2007.
