EDHEC-Risk Alternative Investment Days, February 8-9, 2010, The Brewery, London

Over the past six years, the EDHEC-Risk Alternative Investment Days have become the alternative investment conference of reference for institutional investors, single managers and funds of funds. On February 8-9, 2010, the event will be returning to The Brewery, one of London’s leading event and conference locations.
The EDHEC-Risk Alternative Investment Days include two conferences and a roundtable, which will be genuinely significant events for alternative investment professionals:
- the CNBC EDHEC International Herald Tribune Hedge Fund Roundtable of Global Thought Leaders, the theme of which will be “are the new initiatives to regulate the hedge fund industry an appropriate response to the financial crisis?”
- the EDHEC-Risk Hedge Fund Summit, which will address four major themes on the basis of new research from EDHEC-Risk who will draw the lessons from the financial crisis for the industry:
- Correlation risk in hedge funds
- How to capture the operational risks of hedge funds and manage them better? A post-Madoff and Lehman perspective.
- The role of hedge funds in institutional investment after the financial crisis.
- Why the ban on short sales was not a good idea.
- the EDHEC-Risk State-of-the-Art Alternative Investment Conference, which involves the presentation of the research results on the integration of different alternative investment classes or vehicles into asset management and asset-liability management. In 2010, five research projects will be exclusively presented by EDHEC-Risk's professors and researchers and commented upon by alternative investment professionals:
- How to make asset diversification robust in the alternative universe
- ETFs and the alternative asset class
- How to invest in credit derivatives after the crisis
- Capturing the risk premium of commodity futures
- Sustainable development: a trend or a genuine alternative asset class?
