EDHEC Institutional Days 2009

Bringing research insights to institutional investors
The EDHEC Institutional Days are organised by an academic research centre for the benefit of professionals to present the applied research conducted by the EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre and discuss its results with the institutional investor and fund manager communities.
EDHEC Institutional Days 2009 will comprise five major events that will allow professionals to review major industry challenges, explore state-of-the-art investment techniques, and benchmark practices to research advances: - The ETF and Indexation Summit will provide practitioners with the outputs of EDHEC’s research in the fields of risk management and asset allocation supported by Exchange Traded Funds and indices. The summit will be devoted this year to new applications with ETFs.
- The EDHEC–Wall Street Journal Europe Global Institutional Investment Conference will bring together foremost figures from sovereign investment vehicles to discuss EDHEC’s latest research on asset-liability management and risk management for Sovereign Wealth Funds at the EDHEC-Wall Street Journal Europe Sovereign Wealth Fund Forum. The stream sessions will explore EDHEC's research on a variety of core concerns for institutional investors and will include comments and opinion from high-level representatives of the financial services industry.
- At the EuroPerformance–EDHEC Alpha League Table Forum, the asset managers recognised for the quality of their active management of equities will discuss the sources of their outperformance.
- The inaugural EDHEC-Robeco-Journal of Portfolio Management Award will be presented to the authors of the research paper published in the Journal of Portfolio Management in 2008 with the most relevance for the European institutional investment industry.
- The Annual Conference on French Institutional Asset Management will provide a synthesis of regulatory issues and of the techniques of French institutional asset management.

The Annual Conference on French Institutional Asset Management will provide a synthesis of regulatory issues and of the techniques of French institutional asset management. It will deal with key issues such as the IFRS and Solvency II constraints on institutional investment, the performance of Socially Responsible Investment funds, the impact of Solvency II on the management of insurance companies, and the lessons to be drawn from the financial crisis for institutional investment.
