A great success for the inaugural edition of the Wealth Management Systems for Individual Investors Conference with over 120 professionals on the Princeton Campus

The Wealth Management Systems for Individual Investors Conference, which took place on April 26 on the Princeton campus, was a great success with over 120 people in attendance from the US, Europe, South Africa & Australasia. This inaugural conference is the first-ever joint collaboration between EDHEC-Risk Institute, KAIST (Korea), Princeton (USA), and Tsinghua (China) Universities.

The audience, consisting of top executives from investment and wealth management companies, banks, institutional investors, and academics, highly appreciated the good balance between academic insights and practical applications. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to interact with experts on financial technologies, including the Turing Award recipient and founder of IIIS FinTech Center at Tsinghua University Andrew Yao), John Bogle (Founder of The Vanguard Group, and President of the Bogle Financial Markets Research Center), Woo Chang Kim (Associate Professor at KAIST), Lionel Martellini (Director of EDHEC-Risk Institute), John Mashey (Bell Labs/Silicon Valley Computer Scientist/Corporate Executive), and John Mulvey (Professor and founding member of the Bendheim Center for Finance at Princeton University).

The conference was sponsorised by SAMSUNG ASSET Management and Ant Financial (ALI BABA).

Participants who registered for the Fintech conference on 26 April had the opportunity to stay on at the Princeton Campus on 27 April for a related event, dedicated to exclusive in-depth tutorial classes and demonstrations on machine learning in finance, goal-based investing, digital wealth systems and more, with companies leading in the creation of robo-advisors.

The conference will take place annually, and this first edition was organised by EDHEC-Risk Institute and Princeton University’s ORFE department.
