Offering of PhD in Finance to be extended to Asia

EDHEC-Risk Institute is extending its successful PhD in Finance programme to Asia where it will be offered from Singapore.

Drawing its faculty from the world’s best universities, the EDHEC-Risk Institute PhD in Finance is a three-year programme helping outstanding individuals develop the scientific background and skills required to conduct research that will yield original insights and lead to innovative approaches and offerings.

The programme’s unique delivery format allows the participation of both recent university graduates – who join EDHEC-Risk Institute to work as research assistants – and seasoned practitioners – who keep their full-time jobs.

Currently delivered from Europe only, the programme brings together thirty-three participants from twenty-six countries on the five continents. Its seasoned participants have an average of sixteen years of professional experience and reside in Europe (46%), Asia (29%), and North America (25%).

According to Frédéric Ducoulombier, Director of Executive Education at EDHEC-Risk Institute, the programme’s geographic expansion will better serve strong demand recorded in the Asia-Pacific region, will provide all programme candidates with more course choices, and will reinforce the programme’s global positioning.

While candidates joining the programme in Singapore in February 2011 will be able to follow all of their courses locally, they will have the opportunity to also take elective seminars in Nice and London. Likewise, the next group of candidates joining in Europe in October 2010 will have the option to attend electives given in Singapore. Last but not least, all programme participants will have electronic access to the wealth of courses, seminars, workshops, and presentations given in Singapore, Nice, and London.

The next information sessions presenting the EDHEC-Risk Institute PhD in Finance will be taking place at the following locations:

  • New York, October 26
  • Chicago, October 28
  • Singapore, November 19
  • Hong Kong, November 24
