EDHEC-Risk Institute exits CAIA Preparation Market

EDHEC-Risk Institute has announced it will discontinue its CAIA preparatory programmes following the September 2009 exam session to focus on continued development of its exclusive seminars and degree-granting courses. With cumulated attendance exceeding 500, the class room-based courses organised by EDHEC-Risk Institute were the largest and longest running in the CAIA exam preparation industry.

The Europe-based research institute had originally been selected by the CAIA Association in 2004 to promote awareness of the CAIA designation and serve as course provider in Europe:

The association handpicked EDHEC-Risk owing to its reputation of research expertise within the alternative investment community and its strong industry network”, recalls Craig Asche, Executive Director of the CAIA Association. “At the time novelty, complexity and rapid industry growth combined to create training needs which few institutions could address, and the association needed a trusted partner to develop in Europe.

EDHEC-Risk was honoured to spearhead the development of the CAIA designation in Europe and train professionals to prevent knowledge and skills from lagging behind market expansion,” says Frédéric Ducoulombier, Director of Executive Education at EDHEC-Risk Institute. “Today, the designation is firmly established as the educational standard for alternative investment professionals and the growth of the CAIA community allows the association to continue its expansion on a global scale; these are remarkable achievements.

EDHEC-Risk Institute demonstrated skill and commitment to providing quality offerings and many candidates found the EDHEC-Risk Institute courses an invaluable part of their success in achieving the CAIA designation”, says Craig Asche. “Philippe Malaise, Georges Hübner, and Felix Goltz as instructors, and the rest of EDHEC-Risk Institute’s executive education team should be commended for their hard work and dedication”, he adds.

In terms of executive education, EDHEC-Risk Institute will focus on the continued geographic development of its exclusive seminars, its highly successful PhD in Finance programme, and introduce new offerings allowing professionals to keep up with the latest developments in theory and practices”, says Frédéric Ducoulombier. “We strongly value our partnership with EDHEC-Risk Institute and look forward to adapting it to continue to jointly serve the alternative investment community”, concludes Craig Asche.
